Rooms & Facilities

At Johanneum you live together on one of six floors in mixed shared apartments of 2 to 7 people.

Each shared apartment has its own shared kitchen, a bathroom with shower and a toilet.

The room sizes range from 9.5 sqm to 32.4 sqm.

The rent for the rooms is between €225.00 and €397.00.

Unfortunately the house is not barrier-free!

About half of the rooms are furnished and equipped with basic equipment (bed, slatted frame, mattress, desk, chair, wardrobe, lamp). For furnished rooms, there is an additional furniture rental fee of €10 per month.

Room facilities: Your windows offer either a quiet view of the inner courtyard or of the moderately busy Tucholskystrasse. All rooms are equipped with Wi-Fi and a TV connection.

Shared kitchens: On every floor you will find a well-equipped shared kitchen with a fridge (including freezer), stove, oven, shelves, dining table, chairs, as well as dishes, pots and pans. All you need is your shopping and you can get started right away! The design of the kitchens is determined by the residents themselves, so that each shared kitchen has its own style.

Bathrooms: There is a bathroom with a toilet and a shower on each floor. On the ground floor and on the 5th floor, the bathroom and toilet are combined in one room. The highlight of the 5th floor: a bathtub!

Laundry rooms: There are two large washing machines in the laundry room. You can wash your laundry here for a small fee. Clothes racks are located in the adjacent basement room.

courtyard

The heart of the dorm is our cozy courtyard, ideal for relaxed barbecue evenings in the shade of the linden tree or small parties with your roommates.

A cozy guest room is available for visitors on the second floor. Friends or family can stay with you for just €10 per night. The proceeds benefit the house community.

bicycle storage

You can safely store your bike in the bike cellar. There is one bike parking space per resident. You can easily take your bike with you via a ramp whenever you want to explore the city or go to a lecture. The Johanneum also has two guest bikes that you can borrow.

library

Our modern library on the first floor offers not only space for studying, but also for house evenings and events. It contains around 5,000 volumes of theological and philosophical works, including important exam literature. A grand piano and a screen ensure relaxed film evenings or music sessions.
